The Montreal Canadiens seem to have made an excellent choice in the 2020 draft. They chose defenseman Kaiden Guhle with the 16th overall pick.
Since then, the youngster has continued to impress as he made a great first impression at the CH training camp. After a return to the WHL, Guhle has 18 points in 20 games in junior.
Guhle has been confirmed as the captain of Team Canada's junior team and this will be his second appearance at the World Under-20 Championship.
Speaking to 91.9 Sports, Canada's assistant coach Louis Robitaille had high praise for the Tricolore prospect.
"Kaiden Guhle is an amazing young player who works hard."
This is another proof that shows all the leadership that Guhle possesses, he who has often been compared to Shea Weber. While he may not be the most vocal in the locker room, he seems to stand out with his work ethic and great attitude.
At only 19 years of age, the Edmonton native's potential is immense. Hopefully this time around the Habs will take the time to develop him into the defenseman they are hoping for.
With the World Junior Championship starting next Sunday, it will be interesting to see how Guhle responds to such responsibilities. Let's hope that he is one of the pillars in our country's quest for gold!
