Two days earlier, we learned that Tricolore captain Shea Weber would be spending a few days with his teammates on their trip to the West Coast.
At first glance, one would have thought that the players would have been a tad motivated by the presence of their supreme leader. With Shea Weber in the stands, the Habs got mauled by the Seattle Kraken last night by a score of 5-1. It's pretty ordinary to deliver such a disrespectful collective effort, and this, under the eyes of the man who established a certain work ethic in the organization. It's a complete disrespect to the legacy Weber left behind...
This is where the absences of Shea Weber, Joel Edmundson, Paul Byron and Carey Price hurt. There is a distinct lack of leadership on this team. Someone will have to stand up in the dressing room.
Dominique Ducharme's team will have a chance to get back on track tomorrow in San Jose when the Sharks host the Habs.
