This is the big news of the day in hockey, on this Valentine's Day, Habs GM Kent Hughes has officially traded forward Tyler Toffoli to the Calgary Flames. In exchange, Montreal receives : a first-round pick in 2022, a fifth-round pick in 2024, young prospect Emil Heineman and fourth-line forward Tyler Pitlick.

Let's talk a bit about Heineman.

He's a 20-year-old winger, who was drafted 43rd overall in 2020 by the Florida Panthers (involved in the trade that sent Sam Bennett from the Flames to the Panthers last season). He played 36 games with Leksands IF in the Swedish Elite League (SHL) in 2021-22, registering 11 goals and five assists in addition to serving 20 penalty minutes.

In 90 career SHL games, Heineman has 31 points (18 goals, 13 assists) and 38 penalty minutes.

The majority of experts compare him to Artturi Lehkonen, precisely, a Canadiens' forward who is currently popular on the trade market.

On the other hand, Heineman would have a better shot than Lehkonen and he is more of a "scorer" than Lehkonen, according to the experts consulted.

"(Heineman) has got some things to work on but I won't be surprised if he works his way from bottom-six SHL scorer, to top-six SHL scorer, to top-six AHL scorer, to NHL option by the time he's 22-23." - Scott Wheeler, Prospects Expert.

It's not Jakob Pelleter, unfortunately according to many supporters, but are you still satisfied with this acquisition?
