With the Montreal Canadiens ending the first half of the season with only eight wins on the clock, more and more fans are demanding the head of coach Dominique Ducharme.
However, they will have to be patient, according to the words of the well-known Pierre LeBrun. The latter said that it would be very surprising for the CH to make a change of coach before the end of the season.
This choice to wait until the end of the season before taking the decision to keep, yes or no, Dominique Ducharme would be for purely monetary reasons. Indeed, Marc Bergevin and Claude Julien are still receiving a large salary and the Habs can therefore not afford to pay another coach before the end of the Bergevin contract.
However, it will be interesting to see what decision Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes will make at the end of this campaign. Will they give another chance to the man who led his team to the Stanley Cup Final last season, or will they bring their own trusted man?
One thing is certain, Ducharme has three months to try to convince his new bosses that he is the right candidate for this position. To be continued...
