The All-Star game weekend is exactly one week away. This will be Nick Suzuki's first appearance at the event, as he represents the Montreal Canadiens.
The Habs number 14 has given himself a mission (in jest) for this rather fun weekend. He will try to convince Patrice Bergeron to come and play for the Habs next season.
How did such a mission get put on the table? Journalist Jimmy Murphy is the author of this rather comical mission.
"I just asked Nick Suzuki (jokingly) if he was going to try to convince his new GM Kent Hughes to contract his former client and Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron," said Jimmy Murphy.
Nick Suzuki's response:
"We'll see how it goes. I'm on his team at the All-Star game, so I might talk to him about it," replied Nick Suzuki.
Of course, the whole thing was just a joke. Nick Suzuki doesn't see Bergeron wearing anything but a Boston Bruins jersey.
We can imagine that it would be an honor for Nick Suzuki to play on the same team as his favorite player when he was younger. However, he will have to have more than convincing arguments if he wants to persuade Bergeron to sign with the enemy. It would be a Hollywood ending, if not an unlikely one.
