In a press conference after yesterday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki sent a clear message to his teammates and it seems like it's something that has been weighing on him for a while.
Last night, Suzuki, for the rare time, let his emotions flow a bit.
He seemed to have a lot on his mind. Check out what he had to say about his team's power play:
"Our power play is just really bad.
I've been frustrated all year with our power play. At some point, we're not going to be last in the NHL. We all know that.
It killed the momentum for us in a lot of games." - Nick Suzuki
A very clear message. According to some, a certain Alex Burrows was possibly targeted here, but we'll let you be the judge of that.
Either way, it brings up a very good point. The power play must absolutely improve because its inefficiency is really sinking the CH right now.
Suzuki was not in a good mood and he was absolutely right to be.
Suzuki was willing to take his share of the blame, but unfortunately another name is starting to come up more and more often, according to some:
"Unfortunately, like it or not, it's pointing in the direction of Alex Burrows, because he's the one in charge of the power play among the coaches, and it's just not working.
Yet with offensively talented players like Suzuki and Caufield, there's no reason to be last in the NHL." - Nicolas Desrosiers
The captain has spoken, now we need to find solutions! What do you think could revive our Habs' power play?
Personally, we believe that the addition of a solid quarterback, like a Tyson Barrie or a John Klingberg, could really make a difference.
