In the last few seconds, the Montreal Canadiens organization has made a nice gesture with the following official statement:
"Our hearts go out to Victor Mete and his family on the loss of his grandfather, as well as to the loved ones of all victims of the tragic violence that took place in Vaughan. The hockey world is with you and ready to support you during this difficult time.
Recall that there was a real tragedy that occurred near Toronto, when a 73-year-old man allegedly killed five people in a shooting at a condominium building.
The events occurred Sunday night in Vaughan, near Toronto. The suspect was shot by police and was a resident of the building.
One of the victims of this tragedy was Vittorio Panza, who was the maternal grandfather of Leafs defenseman Victor Mete.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by this unbelievably sad event.
