In the last few hours, the Montreal Canadiens organization has released a nice official statement regarding Michael Pezzetta.
A great initiative.
Pezzetta, the Italian from Toronto.
"MONTREAL - Although Canadiens players feel at home in Montreal during the season, they don't forget where they come from.
Before stepping onto NHL ice, Michael Pezzetta made his way to professional hockey in Toronto, Ontario. Discover Michael's guide to must-see spots in his hometown."
He also answers several questions, and here's an excerpt :
"How would you describe your hometown?
I'm from Toronto. I'm sure most people know where that is. (laughs)
What do you like about the place?
It's a big city, so there's always something to do to keep busy. Obviously, it's a beautiful city and I like spending my summers there.
What do you miss the most about the city when you're not there?
My family and friends. We are a very close-knit family. We all live close to each other, between my cousins and my grandparents, so I really miss them. I miss hanging out with my friends in the summer, playing golf, and all that.
What is famous about Toronto?
What's famous about Toronto... Having the second most Stanley Cups in the NHL, behind a certain team (laughs). It's a big city. There are always things to do, big concerts to attend. A lot of big names and celebrities come through. The CN Tower... Let's just say that after seeing it so much, we end up calling it the pretty tall big deal (laughs)."
And it goes on like that!
It gives us a chance to get to know one of our warriors better, who will try to secure a spot with the Habs at the next training camp in September.
This season, 25-year-old Pezzetta has collected 7 goals and 15 points in 63 games (plus 77 penalty minutes).
Do you believe he will be a regular with the Canadiens next fall?
