Jeff Blashill, the Detroit Red Wings' head coach, said that his winger Jakub Vrana, who has a shoulder injury, will undergo surgery, which will keep him out of action for at least 4 months. OUCH!

Vrana scored 11 points, including eight goals, in 11 games with the Red Wings. He has made a name for himself since his arrival, proving that Steve Yzerman made the right choice in sending Anthony Mantha to Washington.

Before coming to Michigan, Vrana had 25 points, including 11 goals, in 39 games. Prior to that, he had 27, 47 and 52 points respectively. Of note, he has no points in his last 15 playoff games.

The 25-year-old Czech is a former first-round pick of the Capitals, being the 13th overall pick in the 2014 Entry Draft. That year, David Pastrnak was the 25th selection, while the Montreal Canadiens opted for Nikita Scherbak at 26th.
