He is probably the coach of the moment in the world of hockey, especially following his conquest last night, and Patrick Roy's future continues to be the subject of increasing chatter.

As his name starts to circulate among some NHL teams as a potential new head coach, it is expected that he will have a few interviews in the coming weeks. (after the Memorial Cup)

This summer seems to be his best chance to return to the NHL in almost 10 years.

His name has been linked with the New York Rangers, the Ottawa Senators, and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In short, in the last few hours, it was Georges Laraque's turn to link Roy's name with a new team: the Montreal Canadiens.

"Georges Laraque: Montreal would be the best candidate for Patrick Roy as a coach.

Georges Laraque joins Tony Marinaro to discuss whether Patrick Roy will get a 2nd chance in the NHL." - Tony Marinaro's Podcast

Laraque's statement has caused a huge reaction. He adds:

"Patrick Roy deserves to be with the Montreal Canadiens, his place is with the Montreal Canadiens. [...] We need to find him a role, so he can be with the team now that all accounts have been settled with the management.

I'm not talking about the role of head coach, Martin St-Louis is the head coach, but why not behind the bench with him?"

Tony, for his part, does not see how this can happen. He does not seem to be a fan of the idea. See the excerpt in question:
