The very connected insider Pierre LeBrun, of The Athletic, continues to provide several very interesting information on the Montreal Canadiens, certainly one of the main teams to watch closely, less than a week from the NHL trade deadline.
Among the names that circulate the most, there is obviously that of Ben Chiarot, but also that of Artturi Lehkonen. LeBrun has just revealed new information about the Finnish forward.
There are no less than 6 or 7 teams who have called Kent Hughes about Lehkonen. The interest is there.
What did the Habs GM respond to the other clubs? The price to acquire Artturi Lehkonen is: at least a first-round pick.
It therefore confirms that Kent Hughes' phone is quite active these days and that there is serious interest in the NHL to acquire Lehkonen.
Recall that, according to several experts, Habs fans can hope for a return similar to that received by the New Jersey Devils, in the Blake Coleman trade, at the 2020 trade deadline. (a prospect drafted in the first round + a first round pick)
