Fans are wondering who the players currently targeted by the team's new staff for possible trades are.
While appearing on TSN 690 Wednesday morning, insider Darren Dreger said Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are putting together a list of players they would like to trade, in order to 'go for the best possible value, and another one with the names that they'd like to keep with the team long-term, to be part of the rebuilding of the team.
Dreger on TSN690 says the Gorton/Hughes have a "like to move list" and "don't want to move list", believes Gallagher and Anderson are on the "don't want to move list", says you do need competitive players around even during a rebuild. #GoHabsGo NHL Watcher (@NHL_Watcher) February 16, 2022
Among the players they would like to keep, Dreger mentioned the names of Brendan Gallagher, Josh Anderson, as well as, unsurprisingly here, Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.
About Anderson and Gallagher, the insider says that in a rebuild, you have to keep some veterans to keep a minimum of competition within the team, and these two players have the ideal profile.
Now on the list of players Hughes and Gorton would like to trade, Dreger mentioned the names of Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman and also Christian Dvorak, but that doesn't mean all three players are on the trade market currently. It rather means that the Canadian would be listening if the offers are interesting. Artturi Lehkonen's name was also mentioned.
Do you agree with that?
