The Montreal Canadiens rookies face the Ottawa Senators this afternoon. If you look closely during the warm-up period, you can see that Rafael Harvey-Pinard has been named the captain of the young wolves' squad.
This is quite an honor for the young Quebecer who has exceptional leadership skills and leads his troops by example.
Harvey-Pinard is backed up by the Canadiens' 2020 first round pick, Kaiden Guhle, thanks to the letter "A" on his jersey. Guhle is also a natural leader and will be the captain of the Prince Albert Raiders and likely Team Canada at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championships.
The second assistant captain is none other than Cam Hillis, the Habs' third round pick in 2018. He was the captain of the Guelph Storm in his final year in the OHL in 2019-2020.
This is a nice show of confidence from Jean-Francois Houle who is gradually building a bond of trust with the youngsters in the Montreal organization.
