When you look at Robin Lehner, you know he's someone who has weathered some VERY big storms in his personal life, successfully...
...and that he's not one to mince his words!
Via Twitter, over the past few days, he decided to come to the defense of his former teammate Jack Eichel.
Tonight, he did it again, still with Twitter, with very serious accusations: he claims that teams give, without prescription, Benzodiazepine type drugs, which slow down brain activity, and another, Ambien, to help insomnia problems.
The problem is that Benzodiazepines, which can be addictive, should normally be prescribed by a doctor or psychiatrist first, and Lehner says this is not the case.
These are very heavy accusations from the goalie, who is careful to point out that this is not a practice that is favored with his current team, the Golden Knights.
At the same time... I doubt very much that Kelly McCrimmon and George McPhee are jumping with joy right now to see their goalie go on with such accusations on Twitter... and to directly target Alain Vigneault by suggesting that he should be fired!
Will the NHL and the Players Association take these allegations seriously?
