Following an event that generated a lot of reaction, when Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman blew away Evander Kane of the Edmonton Oilers.

Video incase you missed it:

As a result, Hartman was fined nearly $5,000.

Finally, fans from all over the world decided to send him money to help him pay the fine. A very significant gesture. (Among the donors: fans from all over the world, as well as Kane's ex-wife)

The movement was so viral that in the end, Hartman had enough donations to pay the entire fine and more. The Wild forward just made an announcement.

Ryan Hartman was overwhelmed by the amount of money that was sent his way and explained that he would donate the money to Children's Minnesota.

"Wow. Overwhelmed by the amount of donations I received to help pay my fine. You fans are amazing. I will be paying with my own money, but I wanted everyone to know that any money sent to me before 7 p.m. this Friday will go to Children's Minnesota." - Ryan Hartman

The 27-year-old is having a breakout season, playing on Minnesota's top line with Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello, posting 56 points (29 goals, 27 assists) in 72 games this season.

Easily his best year of his career.

Hartman has always been known as a class act, and this gift will only prove it further. He is the real deal!
