Even though the Habs were not playing this Friday night, there was action in the NHL as no less than eight games were played. In a clash between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Pittsburgh Penguins, «Sid The Kid» took the opportunity to impress like in his younger years.
Penguins number 87 participated in four goals for his team to help the Penguins get a 5-2 win over the Ohio team. Crosby even took the liberty of taking a hat trick by scoring his last goal in a deserted net at the end of the game.
It was a first since 2018 for the Penguins captain. His last hat trick was on November 28, 2018 against the Colorado Avalanche.
It is therefore the fifteenth hat trick of his career in the NHL for the former Rimouski Oceanic. Despite his 34 years, he continues to produce offensively with 31 points this season in 28 games. Throughout his career, Sid has never fallen below one point per game.
He must have been very happy to put an end to this sequence of almost four years!
