Cayden Primeau comes from a hockey family where leadership has probably always been a part of the game. Keith, his father, wore the letter "C" during his stints in Carolina and Philadelphia, for a combined total of 5 years. Primeau knows the game and has a maturity that few hold at his age. He has a Herculean composure when he's on duty, much like Carey Price.

On the other hand, former Montreal Canadiens goalie coach Stephane Waite, who has been very vocal in recent weeks, does not compare Primeau to Price, but rather to Corey Crawford, another of his former protégés. Another one who is calm when protecting his net.

"I love Cayden Primeau. I think he has to play 100 more games in the AHL. Cayden reminds me of Corey Crawford. He has the same physique and character. Crawford played 250 games in the AHL. I already told Marc Bergevin to let Cayden Primeau play 200 games in the AHL. His full potential should be reached when he's 25 or 26." - Waite

It's no small thing to compare a 22-year-old prospect to a 36-year-old goaltender with two Stanley Cups on his resume. According to Waite, Primeau will be a big part of the Montreal Canadiens in the next two or three years, which is great news.
