The Canadiens will start their season against the Maple Leafs

The NHL has just unveiled its 82-game schedule for the 32 teams for the 2021-22 season, which will begin with the Pittsburgh Penguins taking on the two-time defending champions Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
The Seattle Kraken will play their first official game on the same night against the Vegas Golden Knights. The league's newest organization will have to wait until October 23 to play its home opener against the Vancouver Canucks. As for the Montreal Canadiens, they will play their first game of the season on Wednesday, October 13, against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
The first game at the Bell Centre will take place three days later, on Saturday, October 16, when the Habs will host the New York Rangers. The CH will play the Seattle Kraken twice during the season, on October 26 in Seattle and March 12 in Montreal. Finally, the Canadiens' season will end on April 29, 2022 with a matchup against the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre. Note that the All-Star Game weekend will be held in Vegas this season and will take place on February 4-5, 2022.
