On the eve of the last draft, the Chicago Blackhawks were making a big deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The executive director at the time, Stan Bowman, long before the sexual assault scandal surfaced, decided to acquire Seth Jones.
To acquire Seth Jones, the Hawks' organization had to divest itself of one of their best prospects on the blue line, Swedish defenseman Adam Boqvist. The problem in the story is that the team's staff confirmed to the 21-year-old defenseman that he would not be traded.
The worst part of it is that he found out that he was exchanged by browsing Instagram. Quite surprising, right?
It reminds us of the story with goaltender Marc-André Fleury this summer when the Golden Knights traded Fleury to the Blackhawks and the Quebecer learned about it via social media.
It seems that some teams don't care how they end their relationship with certain players. As for the Hawks, this is another story that splashes them and that will not improve their image.
