The Seattle Kraken has signed Swedish defenseman Gustav Olofsson to a two-year, $750,000 contract.
The 26-year-old defenseman was with the Montreal Canadiens organization since 2018. He will have played a total of three games with the big club, collecting no points in the process. He mostly played with the Laval Rocket, where he played a total of 83 games over three seasons, in which he collected 29 points.
Olofsson was considered a defensive defenseman. He was a great stabilizer for the Rocket's defense, playing big minutes at five-on-five and shorthanded. With Otto Leskinen and now Gustav Olofsson gone, the youngsters in the Habs organization will have to step up and take over on the Montreal Rive-Nord.
