While goaltender Jake Allen was scheduled to play against the Pittsburgh Penguins, we just witnessed a reversal of fortune, but for excellent reasons.
Samuel Montembeault will finally be in net for the Habs tonight against the Penguins because Allen's wife is due to give birth today. What a great day for the family of the CH's number one goalie!
The organization has announced some personnel changes to allow Allen to be absent:
"The Canadiens have have sent defenseman Corey Schueneman to the Laval Rocket and have recalled goaltender Cayden Primeau. Jake Allen (parental absence) will be unavailable for tonight's game."
- Montreal Canadiens So Primeau is recalled, but the team has already confirmed their starting goalie for tonight.
