To summarize the eventful first day of the NHL free agency, the Montreal Canadiens announced two signings.

Kent Hughes announced that the team has agreed to one-year, two-way contracts with forward Philippe Maillet and defenseman Brady Keeper.

Maillet has been impressive in the KHL, accumulating 92 points in 113 games.

As for Keeper, he played for the Abbotsford Canucks last season, tallying one goal and five assists in 35 games.

Clearly, Kent Hughes sees potential in these players, and they will provide valuable depth to the organization and the Laval Rocket.
