Now that things are starting to calm down for the Montreal Canadiens, after some extremely hectic weeks, we have the opportunity to look back at an extremely important and interesting press briefing.
We're talking about the "Logan Mailloux" press briefing, with the Montreal Canadiens' Director of Player Development, Rob Ramage.
Last week was the club's development camp and we were treated to a first, as young Mailloux wore the Tricolore colors (and sported the CH logo) for the very first time.
It spoke volumes about his future in Montreal, but Ramage seemed to confirm it:
Rob Ramage, director of player development, on Logan Mailloux: "the Montreal Canadiens feel like he's done the work that needs to be done; he wouldn't be here (at development camp) if he hadn't."
Rob Ramage, director of player development, on Logan Mailloux: "it will become a footnote - it will always be with him, he knows, as I do, it will always be with him - it's what you do today and in the future that matters now."
Director of Player Development Rob Ramage knows all too well what a second chance can bring: "as I tell the players I talk to: hey, I've been in your shoes, I don't want you to be in mine."
- Remarks reported by Priyanta Emrith
This is really interesting and the takeaway from this is that Ramage made it very clear. Mailloux has done what is necessary to earn a second chance and clearly, the Montreal Canadiens organization seems to have definitely made up its mind. They will work with Mailloux and he will get his entry-level contract.
This is major.
Mailloux, 19, was drafted 31st overall in 2021 by the Montreal Canadiens. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 208 pounds.
