Florida Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau, underestimated for so long, is having an amazing season.
He is currently tied with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl for leading scorer in the entire National Hockey League, really impressive! (68 points in just 49 games)
The Quebecer, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2022-23 season, might become a free agent and test the free agent market on July 1st, 2023. (in about a year and a half)
He could very well decide to do what Artemi Panarin did in New York. (sign the best contract possible)
Where it gets interesting here is that the new leaders of the Habs (St. Louis, Hughes, Gorton and even Lecavalier) really emphasized, in their press conferences, on their desire to charm and attract star players in Montreal, via the free agency.
Huberdeau always said that he would love to play in Montreal one day, for the Canadiens. Let's face it, it would be quite an achievement by Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, Martin St-Louis and now, Vincent Lecavalier.
Do you believe this could happen?
