The Nashville Predators have extended the contract of their young forward Eeli Tolvanen for three seasons. The star will have an annual salary of $1.45 million per year.
David Poile just hit a home run. Tolvanen is one of the good young players in the NHL at only 22 years old. The former Preds first round pick in 2017 had a breakout season last year, hence his 22 points, including 11 goals, in 40 games.
The 22-year-old Finn is really a long way from reaching his full potential, he will be a vital part of the Predators' success in the upcoming seasons. He will only get better and more valuable over the years, like a fine wine.
However, when this deal expires, if Tolvanen continues on this path, he could very likely break the bank in Tennessee. Who said David Poile was finished? What a masterstroke!
