They will likely be looking to add some depth to their roster to hopefully make a run at the playoffs.
There have been many rumors about Ben Chiarot going to the Big Apple. However, the strong performance of the youngsters on the left side of the defense, including Libor Hajek, K'Andre Miller and Ryan Lindgren, could change Chris Drury's plan.
The New York Post's Ethan Sears suggested that the Blue Shirts could instead look for experience on the offensive side of the net, namely a certain Tyler Toffoli of the Montreal Canadiens.
Toffoli could be a great addition for Gerard Gallant's team, considering his versatility. The number 73 is used for everything and he is effective. He could get a lot of points alongside Mika Zibanejad or Artemi Panarin.
Plus, he has a pretty reasonable contract with two more seasons on his pact after this year, which pays him $4.250 million per season.
The 29-year-old also has plenty of playoff experience, having won the Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2014, as well as reaching the finals with the Habs last year.
Toffoli is second on the Tricolore in scoring with 17 points, including five goals, in 26 games.
The Rangers have some good prospects on their roster that could clearly interest Jeff Gorton, considering his connection to his former organization.
To be continued...
