The Seattle Kraken announced that Mark Giordano will be named as the franchise's first captain. Everyone who follows hockey knew that Giordano would become the guiding light of this roster, as he is considered one of the great leaders throughout the NHL.
Before being drafted by the Kraken in the expansion draft, Giordano wore the "C" for eight campaigns. With the Flames, he scored 509 points in 949 games, while winning a Norris Trophy and a Mark Messier Trophy during his time in Calgary.
Gio is now 38 years old, but he still has plenty of fuel in his tank as he collected 26 points, including nine goals, in 56 games last season. I remind you that he has never been drafted by a National Hockey League organization.
