The saga of the 18th CEO of the Canadiens history finally ended in the last few days when Kent Hughes finally got the job.

In particular, he took part in his first press conference as GM on Wednesday with Jeff Gorton and Geoff Molson.

Although we knew that Mathieu Darche and Daniel Brière completed the top-3 in this race, TVA Sports journalist Louis Jean presented 10 of the 11 candidates who were interviewed.

Unsurprisingly, Marc Denis, Patrick Roy and Stéphane Quintal were all interviewed for the job. Former Canucks and Panthers goalkeeper Roberto Luongo was also involved.

Another name that is interesting to see on the list is Danièle Sauvageau. A former coach and analyst, she has participated 10 times at the Olympics with the Canadian Women's Team.

In his case, it will be interesting to see if the staff will offer him a position within the organization. Molson mentioned that he wanted more diversity within his club.

Otherwise, ESPN analyst Kevin Weekes was also approached. The former NHL goaltender is getting closer to Marc Denis, while the two are excellent speechmakers.

The 10th candidate on the list is John Sedgwick. He has been in office since 2017 as Vice-President, Hockey Operations and Legal Affairs.

Therefore, only one candidate is missing before completing the list of 11 persons considered for the position. After discovering all these candidates, are you satisfied with the selection of Kent Hughes?
