Today was a big day for the Carey Price file.

For those who missed it, here is a summary.

Following the Montreal Canadiens' optional practice of the day (in anticipation of the game scheduled for the evening in Columbus), we got more details regarding the famous goaltending situation.

We'll keep you posted as much as possible, as we're getting a ton of messages on the subject.

So please note today that: Even though Jonathan Drouin has been placed on the long-term injured list (due to surgery), even though Jesse Ylonen has been sent back to Laval, even though Jake Allen's season is over, even though Carey Price was in the starting goalie's net yesterday at practice, and even though they absolutely do not want to play Cayden Primeau in the NHL (yet), #31 will not be in uniform tonight.

We suspected it, but it's now confirmed! Price won't even be on the bench as a backup goalie. He will be watching the game from the stands.

However, a new date is now circled in his case:

We are waiting for a final confirmation, but according to what Georges Laraque describes as a "reliable source", Carey Price will be back in action on Friday, at the Bell Centre, against the New York Islanders. Wow! If confirmed, it will be a great moment.

So, the verdict :

- Montembeault the starter tonight, Primeau the backup, and Carey in the stands.

- Price in front of the net the day after tomorrow, according to Georges Laraque.

Carey was again at his post this morning:
