Very interesting comments by Jeff Petry on Dominique Ducharme

Yesterday, it was the day of the assessments at the Montreal Canadiens and we learned several extremely interesting things.

Kent Hughes, Martin St-Louis, and more than ten players, all appeared in front of reporters and answered a lot of questions, over the last few hours.

As we continue to break it down, we'll now talk to you about Jeff Petry, who gave a full 24 minutes of interviews and (finally) answered all the questions with almost unbelievable transparency.

In particular, about his well-documented "conflict" with Dominique Ducharme:

"Jeff Petry says he had no personal conflict with former head coach Dominique Ducharme - he was just trying to relay messages he was hearing from other players in the room, with the hope of improving the team." - Priyanta Emrith

"Jeff Petry says former coach Dominique Ducharme's unwillingness to adjust and change things with his system, which clearly wasn't working, at the beginning of the season played a role in his frustration early in the year. He notes that the loss of Phillip Danault was huge." - Stu Cowan

"Jeff Petry says he didn't think there was any doubt that Dominique Ducharme's system would work for an entire season, but what was frustrating for the players was that adjustments to the system weren't made when it was clear it wasn't working."

Really interesting! So we see here that what was considered by many to be a personal conflict (following a controversial outing by Petry in front of the media), was ultimately a professional conflict.
