Cole Caufield has signed an 8-year contract extension with Kent Hughes!
We must absolutely salute the work of Tony Marinaro. Last night, he posted the following video:
He suggested last night, well ahead of everyone else, that the announcement about Caufield's contract was imminent.
Moreover, he added that it would be a 7 or 8 season contract, with an annual salary slightly lower than Nick Suzuki's.
He was spot on, and everything was confirmed a few hours after his post. (information he has been putting out for several weeks already)
We can therefore conclude that Tony had an excellent source, who was extremely aware of the situation.
Why talk about a turnaround?
Because on April 7, almost two months ago, Marinaro reported this:

In addition, one of the most renowned experts in Quebec, Marc Denis, was going in the same direction. He had the same information as Marinaro in March and April.
In the end, it took two months longer than expected before Caufield signed his pact.
This clearly means that there was a problem, an unexpected event that delayed the process, because we tend to believe Marinaro and his sources who were suggesting that it would be announced at the beginning of April.
In any case, all of this no longer matters, and we are extremely happy with the outcome.
We will be able to celebrate Cole Caufield's magnificent goals for a very long time. It's a beautiful and big day for the organization!
