In the past few minutes, we have learned that a fan-favorite forward has decided to leave the Montreal Canadiens organization.
Philippe Maillet, who was one of the top forwards for the Laval Rocket, and thus an important player for the organization, has decided to leave for Europe.
He was an excellent veteran for the young prospects of the Canadiens and helped them enormously.

According to information from Swiss Hockey News, forward Philippe Maillet, who was directly under contract with the Montreal Canadiens, has decided to continue his career in the Swiss Elite League.
He has accepted a one-year deal with HC Ambr�-Piotta.
Maillet, 31 years old, from Lachenaie, is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward.
He had evidently hoped to play for the Montreal Canadiens, but he ended up playing the entire 2023-24 season with the Laval Rocket, where he amassed a solid 53 points in 67 games. (21 goals)
Maillet finished 2nd in scoring for the Laval Rocket, just two points behind Brandon Gignac, and tied for 1st in goals for the team.
