Hughes and the Canadiens' offer to Jonathan Marchessault during free agency finally revealed

Many Canadiens fans would have undoubtedly liked Kent Hughes to reach an agreement with the Quebec-born forward, and as reported by the Marqueur website, it's not that the Canadiens general manager didn't try.

In fact, according to information obtained by Mathieu Paradis from the Toutsurlehockey website, Hughes reportedly offered Marchessault a three-year contract with an annual salary of $4.7 million, which is $800,000 less than the Predators' offer.
