It's Reid Simpson, a scout who has been with the Montreal Canadiens for over 7 years, who has decided to join the ranks of another NHL team.
This was just confirmed by TVA Sports.
Simpson was a professional scout in the West for the Montreal Canadiens, but he has now accepted a more significant role with another National Hockey League club.
Simpson, a former NHL forward, had been with the Habs since 2016 and was one of the longest-serving members of the organization.
According to TVA Sports, he was involved in the acquisitions of players like Kaiden Guhle, Jared Davidson, and more recently, Tyler Thorpe.
Simpson, 55 years old, played 301 games in the National Hockey League, accumulating 36 points and 838 penalty minutes.
He played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota North Stars, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and, of course, the Montreal Canadiens.
Details to follow.
