Kaiden Guhle's agent reveals Kent Hughes turned down massive offer

Kaiden Guhle's agent, Allain Roy, has revealed that Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes turned down a substantial offer.
Guhle's camp, led by his agent, proposed a contract similar to the one signed by young Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson, but Hughes was not interested.

Kaiden Guhle, who is only 22 years old, eventually signed a six-season contract (2025-2026 to 2030-2031) worth $33.3 million.
This gives him an annual salary of $5.55 million.
As for Jake Sanderson, the 22-year-old defenseman signed an 8-year contract with an annual value of $8.05 million with the Ottawa Senators.

Guhle, 22, is a left-handed defenseman standing 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 201 pounds. He was drafted 16th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2020 (1st round) and has accumulated 40 points in 114 NHL career games.
Last season, he recorded 22 points in 70 games, with a plus-minus of -8.
Sanderson, 22, is a left-handed defenseman standing 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 203 pounds. He was drafted 5th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2020 (1st round) and has accumulated 70 points in 156 NHL career games.
Last season, he recorded 38 points in 79 games, with a plus-minus of +8.
