It's not a new development, but Arthur Kaliyev's name has once again been linked to Kent Hughes and the Canadiens.
We're talking about a 23-year-old offensive forward who belongs to the Kings but still doesn't have a valid contract for the upcoming season.
He is still a restricted free agent (RFA) and really won't be expensive to acquire.
At least, he will cost much less to acquire compared to a Martin Necas or a Rutger McGroarty.
A journalist from Los Angeles has just mentioned two names: Florian Xhekaj or Emil Heineman.
According to him, these are the two prospects the Kings could target in a trade for Kaliyev.
At that price, would you do it?
It feels like Kaliyev's potential is clearly the highest of the three, but the floor of F. Xhekaj and Heineman is definitely higher.
There is notably the reporter Austin Stanovich, who wonders if the Canadiens would be willing to give up Emil Heineman or Florian Xhekaj in return for Kaliyev.
It seems that these are two players who would greatly appeal to the Kings.
Arthur Kaliyev, 23, was the 33rd overall pick in 2019 (the draft in which Kent Hughes made several selections) and he is a 6-foot-2 forward.
He has accumulated 71 points in 188 career NHL games, including 35 goals, and he amassed 31 points in 40 AHL games at the age of just 19.
Kaliyev also scored 44 goals in 57 OHL games (98 points) and 51 goals in 67 games (102 points).
And you, would you trade Florian Xhekaj or Emil Heineman for Kaliyev?
