As you know, earlier this week, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton made significant decisions, as Logan Mailloux, Adam Engstrom, Jakub Dobes, and Joshua Roy were cut and sent down to the Laval Rocket.
After Roy yesterday:
It was then Mailloux's turn to comment on the decision.
From his comments, it's clear that Mailloux feels he deserved a spot in Montreal to start the 2024-2025 season, and in his opinion, he had done enough. However, he also seems motivated to return to the big club as quickly as possible.
It will be really interesting to watch his start of the season under the leadership of Pascal Vincent.
He even added that Mailloux seemed less enthusiastic than his teammate Joshua Roy.
He continued:
He still seemed visibly disappointed by the decision made by Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton (and you can certainly understand why).
His plan was clearly to play in Montreal, and he believes he probably should have been in Montreal for the season opener, but it will be up to him to prove it on the ice.
And we are confident that he will, with style!
At just 21 years old, Mailloux is still very young, and this is only the beginning for him.
We will see him in Montreal sooner rather than later, especially if he continues his impressive progression.
