Patrik Laine Was Seen Making a Significant Move in the Final Minutes of the Canadiens Game
It's hard to find anything positive about the Montreal Canadiens right now. The team isn't winning anymore, and several players seem to have lost their magic touch, including Patrik Laine, who has been heavily criticized in recent days.
However, I want to focus on the positives.
Laine made a very significant move today during the game against the New Jersey Devils.
We know Laine has been publicly criticized-he knows it too.. On top of that, Martin St-Louis has demoted him from the second line, is playing him less and less, and is leaving him on the bench more often.
Now that we know this, in my opinion, the most important question is the following.
How is Patrik Laine reacting to this adversity?
Well, today, we saw a sign that he seems to be responding in the best way possible.
Instead of feeling sorry for himself, complaining, or outright giving up, he decided to step up and take concrete action on the ice.
That's exactly what we want to see!
Notably, during today's game against the New Jersey Devils, we saw him much more involved defensively, putting in a greater effort, especially in the following sequence.
«A very nice defensive backcheck by Patrik Laine at the end of the sequence to intercept an Erik Haula pass.»
- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports This move speaks volumes and is definitely a step in the right direction.
We love to see this from Patrik Laine, and if he keeps this up, it's obvious that Martin St-Louis will take notice.
