Change of Plans for Kent Hughes: the Fate of Three Players Have Been Decided
Honestly, I think the Montreal Canadiens are stagnating. After about fifty games, the team has only three more points than last year.
It's pretty disappointing when you think about their incredible 13-3-1 run between December and January.
During those weeks, I believed in them.
I told myself that this year, maybe we had a real chance to make the playoffs.
But with the recent slump and other teams winning, things are looking really bad.

JC Lajoie of TVA insists that the team must sell off its veteran assets as it continues its rebuild.
In my opinion, Kent Hughes definitely needs to sell.
If the Habs want to continue building for the future, they need to take advantage of the trade deadline.
Jake Evans is probably the player with the most value on the market.
I would try to offer him an extension, but if his agents say no, they need to get a first-round pick in return.
Then there's Joel Armia.
He's playing well, but with his salary and the cap increase, he could sign elsewhere this summer. Keeping him might block a young player like Luke Tuch or Owen Beck.
I think it's better to let him go.
Christian Dvorak won't bring much back. Maybe a third-round pick, but honestly, he could leave, and no one would really notice.
As for Michael Pezzetta, I don't think he will be back next year.
He's appreciated in the locker room, but he doesn't really have a place on the team anymore.
Then there's David Savard. I would keep him. He might be worth a second-round pick, but good veterans aren't easy to replace.
I would offer him a 2- or 3-year contract because a guy like him helps young players develop.
If the young players want these fire sales to stop, they need to learn how to win. Otherwise, every year, it will be the same story.
