When a player has to sit out to receive treatment for a day, it's usually not too alarming, and that's what happened with Jayden Struble yesterday.
However, while he was back on the ice today, he left after only 20 minutes, visibly in pain.
It really seems like he is injured.
Check out the footage, but several journalists on site have suggested that things don't look good for Struble.
And yes, the Canadiens confirm another unfortunate injury to start the season:
If Jayden Struble has to miss extended time, we should probably expect the Montreal Canadiens to call up a defenseman from the Laval Rocket, and that defenseman could very well be young Logan Mailloux (who is currently 7th on the depth chart in Montreal).
This is a situation to watch, but let's just hope it's not too serious for Struble, who plays a very physical style of hockey and can't afford to play while too hampered by injury.
This seems to explain why Arber Xhekaj is in the top six.
Jayden Struble, 23 years old, is a 6-foot, 202-pound left-handed defenseman. He was a second-round pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 2019 (46th overall) and recorded 10 points in 56 NHL games last season.
He also added 57 penalty minutes while maintaining a solid -3 plus/minus rating.
More details to follow.
