Mailloux had a superb season with the CH's farm team and made a good impression last Tuesday at the Bell Centre against the Detroit Red Wings.
However, he did not impress all the experts.
Boisvert, who is a recognized and respected expert, disappoints me a lot on this point.
Boisvert claims that Mailloux, at best, will be a 6th defenseman in the National Hockey League.
I respect his opinion, but beyond the fact that I believe much more in Mailloux than he does, how can he already settle the case of a young defenseman in just one game?
How can he claim that Mailloux will never be a top 4 defenseman, in just one game?
Mailloux, who gathered 47 points in 70 games with the Rocket de Laval and 1 point in 1 game with the Montreal Canadiens, was used on the first pair (with Mike Matheson) in his only career game in the NHL.

Can we wait before making such definitive statements about him?
Let's give the young man time before "disqualifying" him like this!
This certainly raises questions about the pressure we sometimes put on the shoulders of young players in Montreal.
If Boisvert's statement reaches Mailloux's ears, let's hope it motivates him instead of stressing him further.
