The excellent Anthony Marcotte has just made a very interesting statement regarding Paul Byron.

He was a guest last night on Tony Marinaro's podcast, and he stated that he expects changes behind the bench of the Laval Rocket. (recall that JF Houle no longer has a valid contract)

«It doesn't necessarily mean that it will be JF Houle who will be out (it could be Kelly Buchberger and/or Martin Laperrière who might suffer), but Marcotte expects changes.

And he would not be surprised to see Paul Byron get an assistant coach position in Laval.» - Charles-Alexis Brisebois

Here is the excerpt in question:

Recall that for several months, Byron has been involved in the development of young players in the Montreal Canadiens organization and he is close to Kent Hughes.

His work seems to be very appreciated by the Canadiens.

Paul Byron as a coach for the Laval Rocket?

It is also worth mentioning that if Anthony Marcotte makes such a statement, it is not by accident and one can imagine he speaks from knowledge.

Definitely a file to follow, but do not be surprised if Byron is eventually named as the coach of the Laval Rocket!
