The Canadiens announce an absence for Oliver Kapanen
The Montreal Canadiens have just announced an absence for young forward Oliver Kapanen.
Kapanen, who is undoubtedly the breakout player of this 2024 training camp on offense, seems to have suffered an injury. Or at least, he has something to deal with.

Let's really hope it's not too serious, because this would literally be the worst possible timing for Oliver Kapanen, who is truly on the verge of causing a surprise and earning a spot in Montreal.
For now, we only know that he will be absent.
Absent for how long? We will be watching for an update from the Canadiens on this matter.
Kapanen, only 21 years old, is a 6-foot, 180-pound forward. He was the 64th overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 2021 (second round), and he collected 34 points in 51 games last season in Finland's top league.
In the playoffs, he scored 14 points in 13 games, and his progress in recent months has been really impressive.
Many analysts and experts believe that he could be a surprise and might even force Kent Hughes to make a trade.
More details to follow shortly.
