The Montreal Canadiens have just announced a major press conference
In the last few minutes, the Montreal Canadiens announced an upcoming press conference for general manager Kent Hughes.
As the excellent Priyanta Emrith reports, Hughes will provide an update, and it promises to be interesting!
"Once the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery is over, Tuesday night, and once Montreal knows which rank they will select in the first round, General Manager Kent Hughes will speak with the media [via Zoom] and he will be at a press conference."
He is likely to be asked questions about the draft, but also about upcoming trades and contract signings.
It should be noted that the Canadiens have an 8.5% chance of obtaining the first overall pick tomorrow. The CH is ranked 5th in terms of probabilities, for both the first and second overall picks.
Macklin Celebrini, 17 years old, has accumulated 64 points, including 32 goals in 38 games this season at Boston University in the NCAA.
Let's cross our fingers very hard for tomorrow! Go Habs Go!
He is likely to be accompanied by Jeff Gorton.
It will be interesting to see if a journalist will dare, or not, to ask him a question about the likely surprise arrival of Matvei Michkov in the National Hockey League and with the Philadelphia Flyers.
It was a very big file in Montreal, exactly one year ago from today.
