We literally mentioned it just moments ago, that it seemed like a very real possibility, and well, here it is!
He had been playing very well recently with Pascal Vincent's squad, and now Kent Hughes has finally made the "move."
Roy is back in Montreal! Check out the official announcement:
We are also expecting another announcement in the coming minutes, an important one from the Montreal Canadiens organization.
Let us recall that earlier this morning, on BPM Sports, the voice of the Laval Rocket, Anthony Marcotte, mentioned that Joshua Roy was absolutely doing the right things to earn a call-up to the big club.
Did he have inside information?
I have no idea, but just a few minutes after his intriguing statement, the Canadiens made the personnel move official.
Roy, aged 21, has amassed 16 points in 17 games this season with the Canadiens' AHL affiliate. (32 points in 41 games last season.)
It's a surprising recall, especially considering the imminent returns of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Patrik Laine, but it clearly shows that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton want to shake things up a bit.
It sends a pretty clear message. Do you like this decision by the Canadiens?
Stay tuned for another potential move, as there's a clear logjam among the forwards.
Details to follow.
