While many fans and observers are already searching for clues about his potential early arrival in North America, his absence from the SKA camp has been a hot topic today.

On this subject, TVA Sports journalist Nicolas Cloutier went to the source and found the answer.

Ivan Demidov is injured, and that's the reason for his absence today

This information comes directly from his agent.

"Ivan Demidov is not at SKA's development camp today because he is still recovering from an injury," confirms his agent Dan Milstein to me.

"In an interview with the TVA Sports panel at the draft, Ivan Demidov had mentioned 'a problem with his ankle' and hoped to return to the ice 'within a week or a little later.'

So, it is due to an ankle injury that Demidov is not present at SKA's camp, but still, one can wonder if the arrival of Evgeny Kuznetsov and a few other veterans in Saint Petersburg could lead the KHL team to release Demidov earlier than expected.

If that were to happen, he could be in the Montreal Canadiens or Laval Rocket lineup as early as next fall.
