The Toronto Maple Leafs, who are usually a strong contender for the cup, gave an embarrassing performance last night that did not go unnoticed by the fans.
Leafs Sent Off with Boos at Second Period's Conclusion
In their latest game against the surging LA Kings, the Leafs managed to score a mere single goal, conceding four, culminating in a decisive defeat. Their key players were absent in spirit, and the goaltending left much to be desired.
Commentator Steve Dangle described the game very bluntly:
The Leafs have mostly been fine this season, even in losses. This game is the most disconnected, joyless, purposeless nonsense they've played in a long time. Sorry if you're in the building for this.
The audience's frustration was audible, with boos echoing as the team retreated after a disappointing 3-0 score at the end of the second period.

The Wrong Type of Boo's On Halloween
The "boos" that filled the arena were certainly not the festive kind one might expect on the eve of Halloween.
The crowd is booing. And it's also Halloween.
If the Maple Leafs' stars don't wake up, fans may be in for a long season. The real Halloween horror was their performance last night!
