At just 15 years old, the young woman dominated the Under-18 Women's Hockey World Championship last January. She was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after scoring 10 goals and 9 assists in just 5 games, including a beautiful goal that you can see here:
On February 26, her 15th birthday, she continued her impressive performance by scoring 10 goals and 9 assists to help VLCI Zilina defeat Kosice 24-1 in a game. Lopusanova had 19 shots and a +17 differential. Her teammates surprised her after the game with a cream cake:
Lopusanova also plays in a U16 boys' league in Slovakia, where she currently ranks second in scoring with 43 points in 13 games. She is only three points behind the league leader and has played six fewer games.
As we mentioned in a recent article, some believe that Lopusanova could be the first woman to be drafted into the NHL.
Some are even excited about the possibility of her being a first-round pick, but we'll have to wait and see since the 2026 draft is still far away. Thank you to the folks at Balle Courbe for finding all of this information.
