The players present at the NHL Combine were not only meeting the league's teams, but also the journalists. Connor Bedard, who is likely to be selected first in the upcoming draft, was no exception.

He notably spoke during one of his appearances in front of the microphones about two players from the current roster of the CH (Canadiens), Arber Xhekaj and Kaiden Guhle. Bedard mentioned that the two young Canadiens defenders were among the toughest to face.

Bedard was able to face Guhle when the latter was playing in the WHL before last season. However, it's hard to see when the young prodigy had the opportunity to face Xhekaj, who was playing in a completely different league during his time in junior, namely the OHL. But it is certain that the young defender's reputation precedes him and that Bedard must have certainly seen his prowess this season on television.

The one who will certainly be a Blackhawk soon also reflected on his visit to Vegas earlier this week during the second game of the Stanley Cup final. He greatly appreciated meeting Leo Carlsson and Will Smith and, above all, attending his first match of a final series. Recall that Bedard also made a name for himself that evening when he shot a great arrow at former NHL player Paul Bissonnette.

Bedard's last season in the OHL was quite something! He scored 71 goals and had 72 assists, for a total of 143 points in only 57 games. He also won the gold medal twice at the World Junior Championship in the space of a few months. He will top it all off in a few days in Nashville by hearing his name called out at the top echelon.
