Good news for the fans! It's official, Arizona has passed Montreal in the standings!
The Coyotes have a good chance to move up in the standings because they are currently playing very well. Their record at Mullett Arena is now 17-11-3 and they will play 10 of their last 15 games at home.
The CH, on the other hand, will have a very difficult end to the season. They have, according to the excellent Tankathon, the 4th toughest schedule by the end of the campaign. For comparison, the Coyotes will have the 24th toughest schedule out of the 32 teams.
The next team to watch will be the Anaheim Ducks. Despite their point total on Sunday, they are currently 4 points behind the CH with a game in hand. Again, Tankathon has the Ducks, much like the Coyotes, ranked 25th in terms of difficulty for their next schedule. They will have the chance to accumulate a lot of points by the end of the season.
We love it! Go Ducks!
Here are the CH's chances to be drafted in the top 3:
This is promising!
The only ones not really helping Montreal lately are the Florida Panthers. They have a 6-3-1 record in their last 10 games and are quietly moving up the standings. Remember that Kent Hughes has Florida's first round pick, and an unprotected one at that, acquired in the Ben Chiarot trade last year. They will also have, again according to Tankathon, the 16th toughest schedule by the end of the campaign.
